Tied Up

Tied Up: The fifth step in Temple’s progressive core curriculum, led by Sydona

This monthly class will explore static partial and full suspensions, geared towards riggers and models who are new to working in suspension.  Each class will explore a new shape or concept.  It’s not required to take the class more than once, but because the content will change each class, students are strongly encouraged to come as many times as they please. For every class, a detailed demonstration of the shape-of-the-month will be given, followed by plenty of time to try it under supervision, concluding with a discussion of what went well and what didn’t for each couple.  Some classes will review harnesses and concepts taught in Bound To and others will not.  Uplines specific to the harness being used will be reviewed during the demonstration, but this should not be the riggers first time learning an upline.

Riggers prerequisites:

Experience building suspendable harnesses, existing knowledge on how to build and assess an upline (if you’re still working on this, its ok! But this shouldn’t be your first time building an upline.), confident in rope communication skills, knowledge of safety and risk in rope.

It is strongly recommended that riggers take Bound To and Flight Path before moving on to Tied Up.

Bottom prerequisites:

Confident in-rope communication skills, knowledge of safety and risk in rope

Supplies:

Couples should bring a full suspension-worthy rope kit (10-12 ropes), a cutting tool, and their preferred rigging gear, if they have it.  We have some rings and carabiners to share, but not enough for an entire class.

$70 RSVP for a tying pair
