Transitions

In shibari, a transition refers to the movement from one position to another. A transition can be explored with varying degrees of gradualness or, conversely, abruptness; this depends on the intention we aim to convey to the tied person.

Transitions are often associated with dynamic styles and less frequently with semenawa (tormenting ropes). We will investigate suspension sequences and discover how they can be tied and adapted to these two different types of energies.

Tying very different types of sessions during the day will give us the opportunity to ask ourselves questions like : What is at play in the movement for the person tied up? What is the right moment to decide to change position and in what ways can we choose to do it? etc
This workshop is not meant to bring answers but to try to enrich our practice of semenawa with new paths!

Level : Suspension

Riggers must know how to tie a propre TK ( any style) and be comfortable tying in suspension. Models must be used to suspension.

Communication being a central element in shibari it is always preferable to come with a partner with whom you already practice in order to allow a good experience.

Material :

A minimum of 10-12 jute ropes (or hemp eventually), ideally 6mm in diameter and averaging 7-8 meters in lenght will be required.

RSVP for a tying pair $240
