Four weeks on Wednesdays from February 15th to March 8th. 7-9pm
This is a rope class series based on using rope intentionally. It draws from the embodiment work Mrghy and Masha have been doing in their respective life trajectories as a professional dancer and a midwife, and builds basic rope skills around that. Designed for rope beginners, it shares knowledge of trauma, somatics, and partnering work that can benefit folks with technical rope experience too!
The classes will cover:
Demos and practice of basic rope skills including single column ties, counter tensions, hojo cuffs, and muter hitches with emphasis on rope handling skills ;
Somatics for rope;
Affective rope skills focused on body handling and single rope ties;
Floor-based predicaments.
In order to promote continuity of learning and community trust, we’d like to have a max of 10 pairs for the whole series. Drop-ins will NOT be available for these, and registered pairs should remain the same throughout (learning buddies are the best!).
